It’s Rhapsody in Blue’s 100th birthday! The Symphony welcomes back brilliant pianist Conrad Tao to throw Gershwin’s jazzy masterpiece the part of the century. Adding to the celebration, Tao will also play Rachmaninoff’s Fourth Piano Concert, a rich and sweeping soundscape full of the composer’s hallmark virtuosity. Rounding out this blockbuster program are Jessie Montgomery’s pulsating piece, Strum, and Carl Nielsen’s dramatic “Inextinguishable Symphony.” Led by Conductor Courtney Lewislighting. Sung in original Italian, English supertitles will be presented.
