Theatre Etiquette

Photography and Recording Devices

Flash photography, video cameras and audio recording devices are strictly forbidden inside the Peabody Auditorium. Non-flash photography is permitted only at the discretion of the visiting artist(s); the artist’s policy will be available at the venue preceding the show. This policy will be strictly enforced.

Cell Phones

In consideration of other patrons and artists on stage, cell phones should be turned off when entering the auditorium and cell phone conversations are forbidden during performances. This policy will be strictly enforced. Patrons may use the lobby or Rose Room to engage in cell phone conversations during the course of a performance.

Talking and Crying Children

Please refrain from talking during the show. Crying children must be taken to the lobby.

Aisles

For safety and courtesy to other patrons, please do not sit or stand in the aisles. Aisles should be kept clear at all times. We ask that you comply with this policy. Any patron who refuses to comply is subject to ejection.

Alcohol

Alcohol is available for purchase at most Peabody events. Staff is fully trained in responsible alcohol management. All guests under the age of 35 may be asked to show ID to purchase alcohol. Guests are not permitted to bring alcohol into the theatre from outside and may not leave the premises with alcoholic beverages. Management reserves the right to refuse the sale of alcohol to any guest.

Binoculars

You are welcome to bring a pair of binoculars to the theatre to enhance your event experience.

Food & Beverage

Outside food and beverage, including water, may not be brought into the theatre. There are food concessions once inside.

Prohibited Items

We ask that our guests avoid bringing unnecessary items. Among items that are prohibited are weapons, outside food and beverage, alcohol, drugs, laser pens or lights, video cameras, audio recording devices, and cameras with flashes, telephoto or zoom lenses.

Re-Entry

Re-entry into the auditorium may be restricted at the discretion of the artist. For symphonies, Broadway touring shows, and other types of events, seating is permitted ONLY between numbers or pieces.

Smoking

There is no smoking permitted anywhere in the Peabody Auditorium. Violation of this policy is grounds for ejection.
